Original Circa 1941 Wilkinson ‘War-Horse’ First Pattern F-S Fighting Knife

I personally get a lot of enjoyment out of finding ‘honest’ Commando Daggers like this old war-horse. Despite a few condition issues, this is as honest as the day is long and clearly and original Wilkinson First Pattern - issues, carried and used by a Commando, Special Forces or Clandestine operative, the very definition of “if only it could talk”. The blade is fully length at 6 7/8”, showing signs of normal use and wear, a very slight kink to the tip, both etching are present and readable but somewhat obscured by old corrosion, this is quite normal with carried knives, as the ricasso part of the blade, impacts the leather sheath the most, which can hold moisture resulting in what you see. Some loss of finish to the guard and hilt but much remaining. The pommel nut is original, tight and has never been removed, some dings/marks from period tightening, again, often found on well used example and nothing unusual about this. I have inspected it very closely and I’m satisfied this knife is completely original and correct in every respect. This original knife even comes with it’s correct scabbard, although the frog has long disappeared with just the sheath remaining. If you would like to add a totally original Wilkinson First Pattern F-S to your collection and one that has been issues, carried and used on missions, this is a great opportunity.
