Wilkinson Private Purchase ‘Scroll Etched’ Second Pattern F-S Fighting Knife

A splendid, solid and honest example of a Wilkinson private purchase Second Pattern F-S with scroll etching panel to ‘D. W. Halman’. Overall condition is excellent, showing only light use and wear but a knife that has clearly been carried and used. The correct Wilkinson scabbard is in solid condition, the elastic having been replaced with a snap-fastener and market ‘W’ for ‘waxed/waterproof’. The blade is in wonderful condition and full length at 6 3/4”, showing very light sharpening marks and looks to have been cleaned. All three etching panels are strong and clear. The hilt has lost most of its finish but remains solid and in good order, with an original and untouched pommel nut. A lovely, honest example of an original privately purchased Wilkie with possible research possibilities.
