Experimental Helicopter Escape Knife ‘HEK’ Replica

If you are not familiar with the history of the Wilkinson Experimental ‘Helicopter Escape Knife’ - in 2001 Wilkinson was contracted by the Army Air Corps to provide a small quantity of experimental knives or a short F-S Pattern. Ultimately these knives were not accepted but represent the very last (although experimental) official military F-S supplied by Wilkinson. See inset for an example of the knife, scabbard and associated documentation.

Offered here is an original Wilkinson scabbard to fit this short HEK experimental knives by Wilkinson. This scabbard originally came to me direct from Robert Wilkinson Latham and is absolutely correct, a rare piece of Wilkinson history.

And accompanying this ‘original’ scabbard is a replica HEK F-S Knife! A fun piece made by my consigner who is the owner of the original. As he had two original Wilkinson scabbards he thought it would be fun to make a replica knife to partner with the scabbard and thoughtfully marked it up as such. Overall length is 7 5/8” with a 3” blade. A great fun piece for the F-S collector who has everything. There is zero chance of getting hold of an original, so here is your chance to get a replica knife complete with ‘original’ scabbard.
