The package containing this first (and only) order of the new camo wings did not arrive in time for any to be issued or worn. After the fall of Rhodesia Scott-Donelan moved to South Africa (a common occurrence with former Rhodesian soldiers) where he was a training officer for the 5th Reece Commando. The package of these trials wings were redirected and eventually caught up with him in 1980. He eventually would find his was to the US to set up a tracking school in Colorado. The wings offered here are an example of one of these incredibly rare trials Selous Scouts camo wings. In perfect un-issued condition. Although these wings were never issued or worn by the Scouts due to the unfortunate timing, they represent a very rare opportunity of genuine insignia procured by and for the Scouts.
