This exquisite First Pattern with 3” crossguard F-S Knife was exclusively made to be offered for sale specifically for my clients. Harry and I have been friends for more years than I can remember. We met through our shared passion of the F-S Fighting Knife. After many years of collecting Harry took his passion for this iconic knife to the next level, with a desire to make the finest modern reimagined version - which I think he has achieved to perfection. With each knife being hand-crafted one at a time, Harry’s knives are very exclusive. We decided it would be wonderful to occasionally and exclusively offer one of his masterful creations through my website and this listing you see here is the first of those knives. I have a full photographic catalogue of this exact knife being built, some of those photographs are shown below. This wonderful knife is a faithful recreation of the mythical Wilkinson 3” crossguard First Pattern F-S, of which only a handful of original knives are known to exist. Creating this beautiful knife was not enough for Harry, so he undertook the creation of a beautiful leather scabbard to the same high standards and to the original Wilkinson pattern. His attention to detail was so precise he even sourced and original Newey snap-fasterned. As you can see this knife proudly displays of Harry’s own personal markings including the unique serial number of No. 9 along with this years date and comes with his hand signed certificate.
The original F-S Knife was a practical weapon, not intended to survive the years and be collected, as such all original knives have flaws in either their manufacture or assembly. This is totally understandable and reasonable for a ‘tool’ never designed to be appreciated for its historic context. Harry addresses that for the modern collector, in producing the finest possible F-S Knives, to the original specifications and designs, while offering a quality of bespoke manufacture that was never previously available.
